A rare and attractive terracotta centre fountain, attributed to the Scottish firm, Garnkirk Fireclay Company, who exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851.
On a tri-form base, three fishes surround a central baluster-shaped support which is decorated with bull-rushes, surmounted by the lower basin, formed like an open shell. Above rises a central pipe surrounded by three cherubs or putti , with their arms raised to support the upper basin. This is surmounted by two further tiers formed like gentian flowers.
