A CAST IRON CLOCK FACE FROM ST PETER’S CHURCH,
SALFORD

A rare cast iron clock face dial, or chapter ring, with Roman numerals painted in black and gold. From St Peter’s Church, Salford, which was designed by the renowned architect, Sir Robert Smirke as a sister church to St Mary’s, Bryanston Square, Marylebone.

Sir Robert Smirke worked in both the Mediaeval and Gothic styles in his domestic architecture, but is most famous for his Neo-Classic works: the British Museum and the Covent Garden Theatre.

This clock dial is one of three available, to be sold either separately or as a set.
